If your organization's ID number is rejected during account verification, the issue is usually a mismatch between the registration number you entered and the one your bank has on file. This article covers the most common causes and how to fix them.

Why ID numbers get rejected

Billplz verifies your organization's registration number (SSM/ROB/ROC/ROS) against your bank's records. If the two don't match, verification fails.

Mismatch with bank records

Cause: Your bank has a different registration number on file than the one you submitted to Billplz. This is the most common reason for rejection. Non-profit organizations (schools, cooperatives, religious establishments) and businesses with a Trading License (Sabah/Sarawak) are especially likely to encounter this, their registration numbers are often recorded differently at the bank versus their official certificate.

Solution:

  1. Visit your bank's branch and request the registered ID number linked to your organization's bank account.
  2. Email team@billplz.com with the corrected registration number. The team will update your account and resubmit for verification.

Wrong format

Cause: Registration number entered with incorrect formatting (extra spaces, dashes, or missing characters).

Solution: Enter the number exactly as it appears on your SSM certificate or as provided by your bank, with no extra spaces or special characters. If your account has already been submitted for verification, email team@billplz.com with the corrected number.

Organization name doesn't match

Cause: The organization name on Billplz doesn't match the name registered with your bank or SSM.

Solution: Your organization name must match your SSM registration exactly, including suffixes like "Sdn Bhd" or "PLT". Copy the name directly from your SSM certificate. If your account has already been submitted for verification, email team@billplz.com with the corrected name.
